The Forgotten Race Said to Have Shaped the Ancient World
Deep beneath the oldest legends of both Elves and Humans lies the memory of a forgotten race.
A race of towering beings whose existence has been buried beneath myth, mystery, and the passing of countless ages.
The Giants.
Though modern scholars dismiss them as fantasy, stories of enormous ancient beings appear again and again throughout the history of nearly every civilisation on Earth. From the frozen north to the deserts of the Middle East, echoes of the Giants remain hidden within ancient texts, mysterious ruins, and whispered folklore.
And according to the oldest Elven records…
The Giants were very real.
The Ancient Beings Who Walked the Earth
For thousands of years, strange discoveries have surfaced across the Human World.
Enormous skeletal remains.
Massive burial mounds.
Ancient bones far larger than those of ordinary humans.
Reports dating back centuries describe skeletons over ten feet tall and skulls so enormous they could cradle a child within them. Yet time and again, such discoveries disappear into private collections, sealed archives, or are quietly dismissed as mistakes and exaggerations.
But amongst the Elves, the memory of the Giants has never faded.
Within the ancient chambers of The Hall of Records are luminous scrolls describing the age when:
“The Sky-Born strode the Earth, their voices like thunder, their hearts lit with starlight.”
The Giants and the Elves
According to Elven history, the Giants were not savage creatures or monsters as many Human legends portray them.
They were ancient keepers of wisdom.
The Elves believe the Giants possessed extraordinary knowledge of the stars, the natural world, architecture, and forgotten magical sciences now lost to history.
In fact, Elven oral traditions claim that the Elves once learned directly from them.
The Giants taught ancient peoples how to understand the heavens, shape stone, and build monuments designed to survive the passing of ages.
The Monuments They Left Behind
Across the world stand ancient structures that continue to puzzle modern historians and engineers.
Stonehenge.
Göbekli Tepe.
The colossal foundations of Baalbek.
The Osireion of Abydos.
Many of these sites contain stone blocks so enormous and precisely positioned that even modern machinery struggles to explain how they could have been moved.
Elven scholars believe the Giants possessed a now-forgotten ability to resonate with stone itself — a form of harmonic manipulation that allowed them to shape and move vast rocks with impossible precision.
To the Elves, these monuments are not mysteries.
They are signatures.
The Lost Artefacts of the Giants
Throughout history, strange artefacts connected to the Giants have occasionally surfaced.
Among the most famous within Elven records is the Serpent Ring of Tel Aran, hidden deep beneath the Carpathian Mountains. The ring depicts a colossal figure towering above a group of Elves whilst holding a radiant sun-like sphere above its head.
Another mysterious relic, known as the Ivory Tablet of Lemuria, was reportedly discovered near the ruins of a sunken island close to the Azores. The carvings upon it show Elves standing beside enormous beings whilst studying celestial maps and constellations.
Many believe these relics are proof that the Giants once shared knowledge freely with the ancient peoples of the world.
Echoes Across Human Mythology
Perhaps the most extraordinary thing about the stories of the Giants is how consistent they remain across cultures separated by oceans and thousands of years.
The Hebrew scriptures speak of the Nephilim.
Norse mythology tells of the mighty Jötnar.
Ancient Vedic texts describe the Daityas and Rakshasas.
Sumerian legends speak of the Anunnaki.
Even forgotten texts such as the Book of Enoch describe giant beings connected to Heaven and Earth.
From the Irish Fomorians to Native American legends of the Si-Te-Cah, humanity has repeated the same story for centuries:
That a race of giant beings once walked among us.
Why Was Their History Forgotten?
Many Elven historians believe the truth about the Giants was gradually erased because it challenged humanity’s understanding of civilisation itself.
If the Giants truly existed…
If ancient peoples learned from them…
Then much of what the modern world believes about history, architecture, and knowledge would need to be reconsidered.
And so, over time, the stories became myths.
The myths became legends.
And the legends were dismissed entirely.
The Last Giant of the North
At Santa’s Village, the oldest Elves still tell stories beside crackling fires of the final Giant seen in the far north.
According to legend, the last of the Giants disappeared beyond the Northern Ice many centuries ago.
It is said that his final footsteps carved the valley where the reindeer graze to this very day.
Whether this tale is history or folklore, none can truly say.
But among the Elves, one belief has never changed:
The Giants were not monsters.
They were teachers.
And perhaps… somewhere beyond the edges of the known world… they still remain.
