Step Inside the Story

📜 A Passage from Within the Story

Once upon a time, in a dark and forgotten village beyond the peaks of the northern mountains, a baby Krampus was born.

Unlike his fearsome kin, this little Krampus was different. He possessed a heart filled with kindness — something his darker counterparts could neither understand nor accept. Sensing that something was wrong, they carried him deep into the most remote and desolate reaches of the forest and abandoned him to his fate.

There, beneath a towering pine tree, the tiny creature lay alone in the snow.

In that part of the world, winter brings only a few fleeting hours of grey twilight each day. As the moon rose and cast its pale glow across the frozen land, the baby Krampus remained nestled in a hollow of snow, unaware of the cruel fate that had been chosen for him.

And yet, something about him was unusual.

From within his small, shivering form came a soft, gentle warmth — a faint glow that seemed to defy the cold darkness around him.

For a full day and night he lay there, alone, with no food, no shelter, and no one to care for him.

Not far away, an ancient Elf named Helga wandered the forest in search of rare herbs for her healing craft. As she gathered her final bundle and rose to return home, something caught her eye.

A glow.

Faint, but unmistakable.

Cautious of the dangers that lurked within the forest, Helga moved slowly towards the light. Step by step, she drew closer, until at last she discovered its source.

There, in the snow, lay the smallest Krampus she had ever seen.

For a moment, she searched the shadows, wary of what might be watching. But seeing no sign of danger — only the helpless creature before her — she made her choice.

Wrapping the tiny bundle in her cloak, she gathered him into her arms and carried him home.

She would later name him Ickle… for he had been as frozen as a little icicle when she found him.
