Step into October at Santa's Village, where the pumpkins are ripe, the parties are planned, and Christmas is close enough now that you can feel it in the air of every workshop...

This month's issue is packed with the stories, secrets and surprises that make this the most magical corner of the year:

🦌 Elf of the Month — Congratulations to Multa, the Village's Head Composter, September's well-deserved recipient. Don't forget the tradition!

📚 The book launch that stopped the Village — Scenes at the North Pole Bookshop on September 26th looked more like a rock concert than a reading event. Elves queued around the block for Santa Claus and The Legend of Robin Hood, the latest in The Claus Chronicles. The shelves were empty by lunchtime. A reprint is already under way.

🎃 Halloween Pop-Up Shop returns — Kurpitsa's shop is back for its third year with 231 products, 63 pre-ordered Snow Circle journals, and a sold-out lantern-making evening that had to add a second date.

👻 Trick or Treating & The Halloween Party — Two nights of Halloween magic: Trick or Treating on October 30th (starting an hour early this year!), followed by the Village Halloween Party on the 31st. Party planner Juhla has left a note saying simply, "No." We expect great things.

🍂 Pumpkin Dome Harvest — The booking system has been retired. There are finally enough pumpkins for everyone. Head Grower Meri says there is no great secret: "Last year we learned. This year we simply grew."

🌌 Elven History: The Opening — A stunning long read exploring the science and lore of the autumn equinox, the Aurora's ancient connection to the world's cultures, and why the Elves believe this may be the year the sky speaks back.

⛷️ Sport Report — The skiing championship is on a knife-edge: Fiia and Eljas are tied on 19 points apiece with one race to go. Everything is decided in October.

🎄 Imaginarium — A brilliant meditation on blind boxes, Christmas presents, and why the best surprise is the one that knew you all along.

🦷 Meet Kavio — The Reindeer Farrier who listens to hoofbeats before he looks at anything else, and wouldn't miss October for the world.

Plus: Mrs Claus on The Inner Applause, the Production Report (Reino says the workshops are "quietly humming"), Reader's Questions, Reindeer News, What's On, The Dream Tree, and the October letter from the Order of Santa Claus — with twelve weeks to Christmas Eve, it's time to start wearing yours.
